If you google Tanja Majerus, the search engine is likely to highlight her impressive LA-based career in the film animation industry. Yet, she is much more than that; Tanja is an award-winning graphic designer, she has designed jewelry and toys, she is an illustrator, a storyteller… in a nutshell, she is an artist. Charlotte in red’s co-founder Patrizia Luchetta, who has known Tanja since childhood, brings it to the point: “it was clear early on that there was something special about her, something artsy, you could feel she was destined for more.”

Tanja’s journey began at the Arts et Métiers secondary school in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg, where she specialized initially in graphic design. Later she ventured into the field of animation and illustration, enrolling at the well known "École des Goblins" in Paris.

Right after graduation Tanja was whisked away to Spielberg's London-based animation studio, where she worked as a key assistant on “Balto”, before moving on to Dreamworks in Los Angeles. Between 1996 and 2003, she’s been involved in several large-scale productions, including "The Prince of Egypt", "The Road to El Dorado”, “Spirit” and “Sinbad”.

After several years of freelancing, during which she worked on “Curious George” (July Film / Universal Pictures), among others, Tanja changed gears in 2007 and put her artistic skills at work for the toy industry at MGA Entertainment as a character and concept artist until 2015. If you bought or owned a Bratz doll during that period, chances are the packaging art has been designed by Tanja.

Tanja returned to animation late 2015, when she became a character layout artist and animator on “The Simpson”. A move, which happened in true Tanja Majerus fashion, as her impressive portfolio proved enough for her to be hired without preliminary tests or trials, even after an 8 year stint in a different industr
